Last night, NBC premiered Merlin. The story of well you know that great Wizard of the middle ages! We see a young adult merlin trying to control his powers and learn how to use them.
Watching the first two episodes of this series really makes me think way back when Kings permiered for the first time. However, there is one major difference from these two shows and that is that Kings is and WILL always be a much better show than this one.
In recent news, we discovered that Kings was being cancelled due to low ratings. I hope that one day NBC realizes that it was a mistake and they’ll rectify it.
However, I tried to give this show a chance. You don’t see many shows like this anymore. Is all about Reality TV, Crime Drama’s, etc. However, there is one thing that I will never get from this show is wether it would be a comedy.. or a drama…
If the show is a drama, then they need to work at it better. If it is a comedy.. then they need to axe the show completley.
On Episode 1 we meet Merlin. A young adult who traveled to Camelot, because his fate in the place where he was was not going to be a pretty one. When he gets to Camelot, he discovers that Magic has been banned from the kingdom (a likely story…) therefore he needs to a way to use magic without people seeing him. He meets this old guy who first encounters him using magic. A bunch of things happens and then he meets the King’s Son (Arthur). Arthur is a bully and a jerk, but someone Merlin has to help him become the greatest king ever since its his destiny.
Basically this means that this series are going to be… Merlin saving Arthur’s butt everytime there is trouble afoot.
Rating for this show: 3/10
Maybe instead of investing in new shows… NBC should have invested in Season 2 of Kings. Just a thought.
