A Doughnut sign gets a Doctor Fired.
From the Assosiated Press
The AP reported about a man from Pensacola Florida given a choice to resign or he would be fired over his view on healthy living etc. The man was a well payed doctor ($140,000 a year) who was outraged by the levels of obesity in the area of Pensacola. However, I think there is a thing called overreaction. Not only from the people who tried to fire him, but from the guy himself.
The guy started posting signs about product with a meaning to them. For example:
- Sweet Tea = Liquid Sugar
- Hamburger = Spare Tire
- French Fries = Thunder Thighs
Now those were fine and dandy, but then he decided to go against Dunkin’ Donuts. Bad Move. He decided to go out and put a sign that says: “America die on Dunkin’” (instead of America runs on Dunkin’). This made the owner of the Dunkin’ Donuts very angry and coincidentaly he was a lawyer. Again, Bad Move.
Also other information was revealed from the Doctor, who apparently was obsessed with the obesity thing, that he was threatening everyone about candy in the place of work and how he would change it for peanuts and that he would confiscate any candy, doughnut, or any other “junk” food in his office. (Obsessed much?)
What was his defense? This: “My method was a little provocative and controversial,” he says, “but there wasn’t a person in Bay County who wasn’t talking about health and healthy eating.”
A Little? I think you need to see a doctor, doctor.
