Well, either the economy is getting better or this movie was even more anticipated than Avatar (maybe both?). In the premier weekend of the Alice in Wonderland, the movie already started setting records and surpassed Avatar for “Highest Opening in 3D” by winning $116.3 million! Also it became one of Disney’s biggest opening weekends and also broke the record for “Biggest Opening for a non-sequel”.
The movie took alone $41 million domestically on Friday. Well what can I say? It seems to me that this might become a second “Avatar” although I think it will not surpass the time that Avatar has been in the theaters. I haven’t seen the movie myself, but critics are praising the movie and just adding to all the hype. I expect to see this in the weekend and will give you a full review then.
If you have seen the movie already, how was it? Is it worth to see it in 3D? Do you think this might be a good contender against “Avatar”?
