Apple is a whiny….

Apple is a whiny….

Well well well…It seems apple likes to be in the attention of the media recently by being a whiny *insert your insult here*.  I used to like Apple but due to recent actions made from Steve Jobs and his company, it has made me think about the true goal of this company.

Here is the jist of it. If you don’t know Adobe and Apple have gone to the ring to fight about the recent change to the Developer’s Agreement and banning Flash and any other 3rd party program from publishing applications on the App Store. Don’t get me wrong, Apple is a company and they can do whatever they please with it. However, many flash Developers were angered by this decision because one of the most sought out features from the new Flash CS5 was the ability to create iPhone Apps directly from Flash. Then to top it off Steve Jobs releases a letter mumbling lies about the future of Flash and how HTML5 will take over. HTML5 will become normal, however, Flash will still have its place in the Internet world. Apple likes to mentions other people’s flaws but don’t let him catch you mentioning one of his flaws. He will shut you down.

One thing that I need to point to the Apple fanbois talking about HTML5 and whatnot. Let’s remember that Flash is not dying… HTML5 Did not killed Flash and also Apple didn’t kill Flash. Is going to take YEARS to make Flash sparse around the internet (if they ever are able to do it), but it will still be around. I’m not going to dive in here into a whole tech piece because this is not what this post is going to be about. However, this whole fight is because HTML5 can play video on a mobile phone and Flash CAN’T that is it! Nothing else. However, with Flash Player 10.1, there will be now phones that will fully support Flash (Nokia already supports it.)

So that is the first one, now here is what gets interesting about this topic. Ellen Degenerous on her show made a parody commercial about the iPhone and in the commercial she struggles to send a text message. However, all of the actions were exaggerated, because of her movements. Apparently, Apple did not like the commercial and asked Ellen to apologize because she made the iPhone seem that it was hard to use. Take a look and be a judge:

Which, raises the question: Why? I thought this is supposed to be a joke. Many laughed at it, I loved it and I didn’t thought the iPhone was hard to use. If we look back at other Apple commercials, you will see them poking fun on Windows.  This also brings up the question to what now the media is able to publish on TV… Censorship perhaps? No freedom of Speech? What are your thoughts?
