Yesterday I had the delight of watching old people being awesome. This review was going to be originally for “Hereafter”, but it can wait. RED ( Retired Extremely Dangerous) tells the story of a retired CIA man Frank Moses, played by Bruce Willis. Frank only wants to do one thing: have a normal life now that he is retired. However, this can never happen if he can’t escape an assassin following him closely. One thing is sure though, for being retired, Frank Moses hasn’t lost his touch. Gathering his old colleagues from the force and some enemies as well — Joe Matheson(Morgan Freeman), Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), Ivan Simanov(Brian Cox), and Victoria (Helen Mirren) –, they set out to find who is trying to kill them and why.
When I saw this movie, I didn’t know what to expect. However, from the trailer it sure looked like it was going to be an action packed movie with a comedic twist. However, I was blown away by the action and the chemistry of all these great actors in this movie. My favorite characters were: Marvin and Victoria. Victoria simply is amazing (I sure wish my grandma could be just as awesome as she was) and Marvin was hilarious and genius! All the other actors did a great job with their characters, but I thought that those two created the most impact in the whole film. You won’t be disappointed by watching this film.
Here is a clip of one of my favorite characters, Victoria:
Overall Rating: 4/5
