Burlesque!

Burlesque!

What would you do to achieve your goals? That’s the story in Burlesque. A young woman, Ali (Christina Aguilera), is sick of her current life and want something more. With her voice and talent, she knows she can make it out there and be someone. She leaves Iowa and goes to LA to chase her dreams. Her attention is grabbed by a club dancer outside of the “Burlesque Lounge”. She goes to the club and realizes that she wants to be on that stage. After trying to talk to Tess (Cher), the owner, she begins planning everything that she must do in order to be in that stage.

That’s the premise of Burlesque and I tell ya…it doesn’t disappoint. Cher may be a “gazillions” years old, but that woman still has it. Her voice and classiness are still untouched and frankly, she doesn’t look a bit old (looks like that plastic surgeon is a keeper!). Another woman that truly impressed me was Christina Aguilera. I got chills whenever she opened her mouth to sing. The story was great as it shows that one should never give up on their dreams and go out there and chase them. It doesn’t matter how you may fall, but you have got to keep trying.

Another thing that we can learn from this movie is choose your people carefully, know who you can trust and who is only using you. There’s is a saying that goes “Don’t make a priority those who make you an option”, which means to just be careful. Those who could appear to be your friends are just using you for who you are (unless you enjoy being used, then that’s your problem).

You can also learn a little bit of real estate…but that’s just boring. Don’t worry about that.

Anyways, if you like show-tune movies (and this movie is NOT a musical) and are a fan of Cher and Christina Aguilera, I say go give it a try. It’s worth the watch.
