Hollywood Sucks BALLS!

Hollywood Sucks BALLS!

Yes. It does. Why do you ask? Simple… it seems nowadays while Hollywood is worrying about who’s going to have the next 3D amazing motion picture, they are forgetting other parts of a movie that are quite important. However, this has given the opportunity to small production companies and upcoming movie artist to rise to the top and shine like they should! Let’s be honest, ever since Avatar came out, there has been this crrrraaazy thing about 3D. Everyone wants to do 3D! Then of course since everyone wanted to do it a bunch of crappy movies came out and thus the 3D Hating Rant began to spread among the people. My grandmother used to tell me that the real 3D movies were enjoyed in the theater during a play, no glasses required. However, grandma thinks that people of Avatar and Pandora do exist, except they are all work of the devil.

Luckily, there have been really good 2D movies around. I think a lesson to learn is: “when planning your movie, before you even do something else…figure out whether it really needs to be in 3D or you are just trying to be a… :) .

Then we hear about this crazy budgets. Thirty million, 300 millions, three billions to make one movie! Granted, there is a huge process behind a movie so, this one is not as bad the previous reason.

Then we get to see these young artist coming up with high quality and inexpensive short films that could easily be compared with a Hollywood movie out there. I’ve selected three for your enjoyment:

Fight the Foot:

This one is my least favorite, because it was so short! The –really– short film left me wanting more! However, is by far one of the best fan-made movies representing the Ninja Turtles made in a while. Let’s just hope that Michael Bay sends us for a treat when his vision of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comes to life. Take a look and let me know what you think of the movie.

Lazy Teenage Heroes

This short film tells the tale of 4 young kids and their super powers. Is has comedy, it has action, and it has some quite impressive special effects. You want to know the budget for this movie? Roughly $300. Take that Shaymalan! Take a look at this movie and let me know your thoughts.

And finally…

Beyond Black Mesa:

This could easily be one of my favorite movies of 2011 (so far!). This fan-made parody of the popular game Half-Life has exceeded all my expectations on fan-made short-film. The movie is entertaining for the whole with twists you won’t expect! Watch it and let me know what you think.

So there you have it. Maybe Hollywood could learn something from these…or maybe they could hire some of these people to do their movies?

Which one is your favorite?
