D-Day is August 12,2011. Are you ready to live in a any other area that is not a major city? I would suggest you start packing then because…the Aliens are coming. But don’t worry, I’m a blogger and I can do something about it.
I had the opportunity to watch the new movie: “Battle: Los Angeles”. This sci-fi movie tells us the tale of an alien race looking for our resources and wiping out our planet. The story was inspired, although I don’t know how, by the events that occurred in 1942 where an unknown object placed itself on top of Los Angeles and an air raid was called to try and destroy the unidentified object. Anyways, it starts by introducing us the characters 24 hours before the “invasion” begins. Then it’s a thrilling adventure all the way to the end wondering: “Who? What? Where? How? …did that just happen?” Take it as it is, this may be good or bad.
RottenTomatoes gave this movie a 33%. I would have to disagree wit the critics on this one. The movie isn’t bad. The movie is actually quite good and entertaining. One of its strongest point was the effects, the action, and the soundtrack. However, this movie is not super impressive as the storyline does contain a lot of plot holes and questions that are left unanswered. The storyline does keep you hooked throughout the movie, but when the movie ends you start to wonder what happened in other parts of the movies. Confusing I know, but I don’t want to give any spoilers. Anyways, to summarize it… I think the movie reminded me of Cloverfield. So, if you liked Cloverfield, you might like this one, if you didn’t you will most likely hate it.
Here’s a scene:
The video shows one of the biggest annoyances of the movie, the shaky camera. Although, I do understand why they did it and it actually works. You feel like you are actually in the middle of the action.
Overall Rating: 2.7/5
