Till this day we have crazy fans all over the place talking about Harry Potter, dressing up being nerds like harry potter… Literally one of my friends dressed up for the premier of this movie, he had the wand and everything…and the cloak, yea -.-’.

Anyhow this movie I’m speaking of is the one that’s in the title…Duh. But I will not deny, this movie was by far the most spectacular movie of all time. Needless to say there was actually comedy in it, even though they were in very intense parts. There also was a beautiful moment between harry’s mother and harry. Yes I’m a grown up but I almost cried. The best part that I loved in this movie was the conclusion. I will not spoil it for you but I am telling you this. Get up off that chair and go watch it because it will be worth the cash you will be spending.

I will always be a fan of Harry Potter and I will most Definitely pass on to my kids this movie. Trust me I bet you five dollars that if in the future when you have kids, this movie will still be as popular as it is now, or at least decently popular. Now go out there and watch that movie .

Rate 200/10.

However, I did not expected to witness a political movie about overthrowing a government.

Rango, starring Johnny Depp, is a movie about a chameleon that gets stranded in the middle of the highway when his owners run over a crossing armadillo. Given only one direction Rango heads to find the nearest town in hopes that he could get reunited with his family. However, in the nearest town he takes the opportunity to reinvent who he is. Invents a story of being a sheriff on the far west, but what he didn’t know is that the lie was going to come back to haunt him.

That may be the story of the movie, but it’s much more than that. This story goes political, when we learn about the town running out on their water reserve. Also, we also learn whoever controls the water, controls the town. Now there’s something fishy going on here…

So in terms of analyzing all this amazing data, we can concur that water = oil. The town’s mayor, is the government. And the investors are all the lobbyists that pay and control the government.

Overall, the movie was entertaining and the acting was surperb across the board. Here’s a scene from the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI6984KMSPw

What do you think? Comedy movie, or Political movement?!

Would you take it? Or would you prefer to continue living life normally and finding out stuff on your own at your own pace?

These are the questions in life we make ourselves everyday…or at least it sounds more dramatic when you put it that way. That’s what the whole movie Limitless is about. The movie tells the story of a writer going through a horrible (and I mean horrible) case of “writer’s block”. The problem is that the “writer’s block” is affecting his life, hygiene, and everything else. He looks just like a homeless person or even a drug addict.

However, this is when a friend comes in to the rescue and offers him a pill that will let him access all of the different parts of the brain and be able to access all the different types of information he has stored over the years. Even the information he didn’t think he paid enough attention to. However, is it all worth it? Eddie Morra, played by Bradley Cooper, then becomes the target of something much bigger. His life is now at stake. However, he did not cared as he now had the power over the pill and with it, was able to be ahead of everybody’s game. However, what if it is the pill that he has to worry about and not the people?

Overall, the movie is really entertaining. With great acting by Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, this movie was sure a treat. However, the movie falls in many cases with plot-holes and weird camera editing that if you are prone to motion sickness, you should look away at these scenes. Also, the movie tried to imitate way, too much the style of Inception. Not because it was in a dream or anything, I’m talking about the style of the movie. To keep you guessing or to keep you wanting more. But in the end you realize that it tried too much and thus failed at creating that emotion.

Here’s a scene from the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFJOaI8ruqc

Overall Rating: 2.5/5

Don’t let the title mislead you as the title could have a double meaning. Take hot chicks, awesome special effects, action with a soundtrack to die for, and what do you get? The Perfect Movie for Men. However, is it truly the perfect movie? Well that question is still running on my mind since I saw the movie.

Sucker Punch tells the story of a girl who is instituted in a house for mental patients after an accident that led to the death of her sister. In order for her to cope with her emotions, she must find her inner peace and freedom. To do this, she creates her own little world, in which, she becomes this super hero in search for freedom.

To simply explain my feelings, I am right now in a Love/Hate relationship with this movie. Why? I really can’t say whether I liked this movie or if I completely hated it. So in order for me to find my inner peace, I’m gonna explain why I hated it and why I loved it. You make the final judgements and the decision to see it or not.

Why I Loved it!

I loved the movie because of the hot girls (I’m a guy, so…), the action, the special effects and part of the story. The acting was superb by everyone (yes even by Vanessa Hudgens…). The special effects cannot be badly judged as they were incredible and really gave the film a complete different look and feeling. The action sequences spoke for themselves; I found myself pumped and excited in every action sequence. The soundtrack was incredibly amazing because it kept you pumped up throughout the whole movie. Finally, the Wiseman; by far the best character in the whole movie with the best lines.

Why I hated it!

I hated the movie mainly because everything was so freaking predictable. I knew how the movie was going to end right when she enters her first “fantasy world”. So I already was not liking how the movie was going to end. Second, *SPOILER ALERT!!* — The fact that you never see what happens in the real world.. is a fantasy inside of a fantasy… — *END SPOILER!!!* you never know exactly what is happening until the very end. This is technically not a bad thing, but it is annoying because you are confused by one thing: knowing how the movie will end but you are completely clueless as if the beginning of the movie was either completely pointless or some kind of fantasy that builds the story.

Overall though, it was an entertaining movie…was it the perfect movie? For some people might have been, for me… I don’t think so. Was it Awesome? Depends on your meaning of Awesome.

So there you have it. Here’s an epic scene from the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFfi1bSnElo

Overall Rating: ?????????????/5 (because I have no clue how much it deserves.)

Or is it just a very well produced fan-made video? From the looks of it… it seems to be real. However, until we get more information the fact will still remain unknown.

About a week or so ago, Ain’t Cool News posted an article about a teaser trailer being placed inside of the Blu-Ray/DVD combo back of Tron/Tron Classic. The teaser video was then spread out like butter on bread all across the internet sparking interest in “Trongeeks” like me.

The trailer shows a look inside to the the events that occurred during the time that Kevin Flynn disappeared when he was force to stay inside the Grid in order to prevent Clu to get out. However, it hints to a lot the one main thing that people want to know about the next Tron movie (if it is actually happening), is Kevin Flynn alive? The video seems to show that this is true. The video puts a bit on emphasis a campaign named “Flynn Lives” by a mysterious person, whose identity is revealed later on in the video.

Now, I’m a bit skeptical about this video. Is it real? or is it a very well produced fan-made video? There are a couple of clues around this video that might reveal that is true, however these also could be false. The style of the way this was shot, kind of reminds you of the movie Tron, but also shows some “imperfections” that could clue that this is just a clever video. However, why is Disney acting so weird about the whole thing? There are videos around in YouTube that (as of now) are being pulled down by Disney claiming copyright. This could work either way…Disney is trying to hide the video? Or maybe this well thought out fan-made video is using (and it is) copyrighted material.

So is it true?

You be the judge. I don’t know how long this video can stay up, but if you can watch it… let me know..do you think its real? or fake?

Are you ready to live in a any other area that is not a major city? I would suggest you start packing then because…the Aliens are coming. But don’t worry, I’m a blogger and I can do something about it.

I had the opportunity to watch the new movie: “Battle: Los Angeles”. This sci-fi movie tells us the tale of an alien race looking for our resources and wiping out our planet. The story was inspired, although I don’t know how, by the events that occurred in 1942 where an unknown object placed itself on top of Los Angeles and an air raid was called to try and destroy the unidentified object. Anyways, it starts by introducing us the characters 24 hours before the “invasion” begins. Then it’s a thrilling adventure all the way to the end wondering: “Who? What? Where? How? …did that just happen?” Take it as it is, this may be good or bad.

RottenTomatoes gave this movie a 33%. I would have to disagree wit the critics on this one. The movie isn’t bad. The movie is actually quite good and entertaining. One of its strongest point was the effects, the action, and the soundtrack. However, this movie is not super impressive as the storyline does contain a lot of plot holes and questions that are left unanswered. The storyline does keep you hooked throughout the movie, but when the movie ends you start to wonder what happened in other parts of the movies. Confusing I know, but I don’t want to give any spoilers. Anyways, to summarize it… I think the movie reminded me of Cloverfield. So, if you liked Cloverfield, you might like this one, if you didn’t you will most likely hate it.

Here’s a scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MggMAV7y3F4

The video shows one of the biggest annoyances of the movie, the shaky camera. Although, I do understand why they did it and it actually works. You feel like you are actually in the middle of the action.

Overall Rating: 2.7/5

What would you do if you were an alien brought to Earth, fleeing from your home currently invaded by some kinds of monsters wiping out your entire race? I would discover my hidden super powers jump of high mountains and steal a girl’s heart in order to save my race. Or something along those lines…

That is basically the story of the movie I am Number 4. I remember watching the first trailer of it back when I saw: “Hereafter” and I thought that the movie actually looked pretty good, but I was worried it was trying to be way too much like Twilight. However, I was glad that they didn’t focused more on that part.

The movie tells the story of the birth of 9 aliens that are going to be the saviors of an alien race after their home planet is attacked by the infamous Mogadorians. The problem lies that the Mogadorians weren’t just gonna give up that easily. The mogadorians follow and start searching for the 9 special children and kill them off one by one. The manage to capture and kill the first 3 and now they are looking for Number 4.

Very…very original title, huh? Regardless of it, the movie was actually quite decent, even though it received a 30% of approval on RottenTomatoes. The movie had amazing special effects and a good story line to support it. However, the movie also had scenes that were completely unnecessary and had too many “cliché” moments regarding the love of the main two characters (Alex Pettyfier and Dianna Agron). The first hour seemed slow, but it could be understood since this would be the first movie of what it looks like to be a series (although, with that title…I’m not so sure you can put a sequel to it). Also, during this hour there were a couple of scenes that the movie could have lived without. Once that hour passed the rest of the movie was quite interesting and kept you on your seat. With awesome fighting choreography and special effects they made the whole movie worth while.

Here’s a clip from one of my favorite scenes of the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgFfLR–8tE

Have you seen the movie? What do you think? What do you think could be the title for the sequel?

Overall Rating: 2.7548113583333…/5

Life in a Day captures this moment. The film, directed by oscar winning Kevin Macdonald, gathered over 4,500 hours of footage from over 80,000 people for this experimental day of capturing the life of earth in just 24 hours. All in a 90 minute time frame.

The experiment began on July 24, 2010, where the director asked the YouTube community to record what they do that day and submit their videos. The selected filmmakers would get a pass to the Sundance Film Festival to view the finished film, which premiered January 27,2011 and take a look at life on earth for a day.

At the beginning of the movie, I was a bit skeptical. The YouTube community is known for having countless of insignificant videos around the web that somehow, the more stupid your video is, the higher are the chances of you to get a viral video. However, with this movie this was not the case. In turn, the movie showed a complete shocking and inspiring footage on how people go about their normal life in just one day. The movie just played around with your emotions. You would laugh at some points, want to cry on others, and sometimes scared of what was going to happen next. Another amazing element of this movie was the music. The music completely defined the movie and mixed up your emotions with the footage on screen.

However, the last line of the movie is what gave this experiment such an inspiring turn.

After the premier, the director and filmmakers participated on an interactive live QA. Many questions were raised about some of the very graphical elements that occurred in the movie. From the slaughtering of a cow to the death of a couple of people at an event called the “Love Parade”, that created some of the more dramatic parts of this movie. He also mentioned the possibility of making a sequel to find out how these people are doing in their life one year later.

The movie will be released for everybody around the world on July 24, 2011.

Here’s a teaser:

It does. Why do you ask? Simple… it seems nowadays while Hollywood is worrying about who’s going to have the next 3D amazing motion picture, they are forgetting other parts of a movie that are quite important. However, this has given the opportunity to small production companies and upcoming movie artist to rise to the top and shine like they should! Let’s be honest, ever since Avatar came out, there has been this crrrraaazy thing about 3D. Everyone wants to do 3D! Then of course since everyone wanted to do it a bunch of crappy movies came out and thus the 3D Hating Rant began to spread among the people. My grandmother used to tell me that the real 3D movies were enjoyed in the theater during a play, no glasses required. However, grandma thinks that people of Avatar and Pandora do exist, except they are all work of the devil.

Luckily, there have been really good 2D movies around. I think a lesson to learn is: “when planning your movie, before you even do something else…figure out whether it really needs to be in 3D or you are just trying to be a… .

Then we hear about this crazy budgets. Thirty million, 300 millions, three billions to make one movie! Granted, there is a huge process behind a movie so, this one is not as bad the previous reason.

Then we get to see these young artist coming up with high quality and inexpensive short films that could easily be compared with a Hollywood movie out there. I’ve selected three for your enjoyment:

Fight the Foot:

This one is my least favorite, because it was so short! The –really– short film left me wanting more! However, is by far one of the best fan-made movies representing the Ninja Turtles made in a while. Let’s just hope that Michael Bay sends us for a treat when his vision of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comes to life. Take a look and let me know what you think of the movie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldC6krN7PNM

Lazy Teenage Heroes

This short film tells the tale of 4 young kids and their super powers. Is has comedy, it has action, and it has some quite impressive special effects. You want to know the budget for this movie? Roughly $300. Take that Shaymalan! Take a look at this movie and let me know your thoughts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN4JIz7uq40

And finally…

Beyond Black Mesa:

This could easily be one of my favorite movies of 2011 (so far!). This fan-made parody of the popular game Half-Life has exceeded all my expectations on fan-made short-film. The movie is entertaining for the whole with twists you won’t expect! Watch it and let me know what you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_FtBSnRShw

So there you have it. Maybe Hollywood could learn something from these…or maybe they could hire some of these people to do their movies?

I’m a bit late on this one, but here it is! Last friday, I was able to experince Tron: Legacy. The “sequel” to popular movie back in the 80′s by the same name.

The story begins with Kevin Flynn, an ingenious programmer who discovers a way to introduce a human into the digital world. With this discovery he begins to think about ways he could use this obtained technology to change the world. However during his experiments and the creation of a “perfect” world, he traps himself after discovering that his master program was taking his role far too serious. His son looked for him and waited for him to come back, but after 20 years hope started to fade away. Until a strange message is received and he, also, is pulled into the “grid”.

I was completely amazed on how the movie was handled. There is a huge debate whether the movie is a sequel or not (I don’t know for sure, because I barely remember the old Tron). However, if you are new to the Tron movie, you won’t be disappointed. The action and story carry you through the whole movie giving you good twists and turns and amazing special effects. If you decide to watch this movie, please do so in 3D! You know how bad I hate 3D movies, but this one is a MUST in 3D and in IMAX. Once you get to be in the “grid” you feel like you are there IN the grid. Definitely worth the watch.

Here’s a scene from the movie(warning: emotional scene!):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0ypIhXCvm8

Overall Rating: 4.5/5
