It’s a competition of pro gamers that has been held in the US of A since 2002. Last week-end it was held on Florida on the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando. I had the luck of being in Florida at the moment, and a friend who wanted to go.

Now I do play Starcraft, the original one, but I have never seen anyone play like this. I had heard that the Koreans play really fast, but you don’t believe it until you see it. I attended on Sunday, the day of the finals; because I figured that the best games would be that day. I was not wrong. Now I don’t really know the names of the teams, because I’m new to the whole Pro-Gaming thing, but the player I did see impressed me. On the losing ladder the Canadian player Idra, was the only Zerg player to reach the play offs, but he lost to DSTC, Protoss player, who then lost to MC, another Protoss player of the same team. On the winning ladder Huk was the champ, and now was waiting for the losing ladder champ to play against him.

Huk, a Canadian, played against MC, a Korean, and both are Protoss players. Now the final I had to stream it cause my friend had to leave early, but it was worth it. In like 15 minutes Huk had defeated MC three times. I was shocked. 15 more minutes and Huk had defeated MC again in a roaring rampage, crowning him champion. Huk became the first non-Korean to win since Korea started competing, and the first player to win for the second time.

I, probably, will never be as good as these guys. I did learn quite a few strategies and will definitely start following the scene more closely. Shame that the last tournament of the year will be in Rhode Island.

Here’s the video that shows a taste of how Huk and MC play…

It seems like just yesterday the first ever Legend of Zelda was released to the Japanese market. A game that created a cultural phenomenon and is still one of the top rated games of all time.

Now that 25 years have passed though, what awaits Link and Zelda for the next 25 years? Well, it seems that more Zelda games are in the process with the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS. One of the top games of all time and still one of my favorites: “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” will be re-released for the 3DS with enhanced graphics and of course 3D vision. However, it doesn’t stop there. “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” will also be released for the 3DS featuring 3D effects.

Myamoto also announced that the Zelda team are working on other new titles for the franchise that will be released for the Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The game use the add-on of the Wii Motion Plus to enhance the game play and accuracy of the player with the character. No full release date has been announced, but its rumored for its released later on this year.

It seems Zelda will be busy for another 25 years and I hope that they don’t lose the quality of name and franchise Zelda. I don’t care if I have to save that princess 300 more times, as long as the story is compelling and the game play superb.

Happy Birthday Zelda!

Here is a little something to remember the one thing all of us Zelda fans are waiting for… a Zelda Movie (but a well done movie, not a crappy version…)

It seems nowadays girls want to share with their guys how geeky they can get. Before being a geek was considered uncool, lame and creepy… now the Geek is an actual fashion icon, and considered hot by many many many and many girls. So guys who are gamers and geeky type, your time has come and you better take advantage of this.

I’m not going to dive much into details here, but I want to say this: the girls in this video are HOT and gamers too Enjoy.

DO WANT! YES! Doing my daily routine of getting acquainted with the world outside of the walls of the office, I found a piece of news that made me jump with joy!

Alright, I’m exaggerating but these are some cool news. I’m pretty sure most of you are familiar with the game “Uncharted” and “Uncharted 2“, if you aren’t… well sucks to be you. Seriously. The game stars a smartaleck/adventurer/pirate guy named Nathan Drake. Basically, a Tomb Raider for dudes with the sex appeal for women.

Sony Pictures announced that David O. Russell was signed to rewrite and direct the movie based on the first game: “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune”. However, no one has be chosen yet for the Lead Role.

This sparked a frenzy among people who think Nathan Fillion is the best fit for the part. Nathan Fillion (main character of the popular series “Castle”) couldn’t help himself and started campaigning for himself and urge fans to petition him for the part of Nathan Drake. However, this doesn’t mean that if he get 500,000 people (his followers) to petition that he will get the part. There are other fans out there who think maybe Nolan North (the guy who voices the real Nathan Drake) should do the part. Even Hugh Jackman has been named here and there. (Seriously? Him?)

As much as I like Nathan Fillion as an actor, I think the part should go to Nolan North. He is the real Nathan Drake. Hugh Jackman…I have no idea who suggested that, but no. No reason…just no. Nolan kind of looks like Nathan, however, he needs to loose a few pounds. To be fair though, Nathan Fillion does look a lot like Nathan Drake.

What do you think? Leave me a comment below and let me know.. do you think that Nathan Fillion should be Nathan Drake for the movie or Nolan North?

What about Hugh Jackman? (please no.)

Watch the Trailer for the Uncharted 2 Video game:

If you haven’t played the game and you have a Playstation 3, I suggest you do. Is an amazing game.

The game looks amazing and from the videos released of game-play it shows that it will deliver.

After 12 long years we’re going to be able to experience it (unless you were part of the beta program, then I envy you!!). On July 27 the first installment of the new Starcraft 2 Series, Wings of Liberty, will be released. However, there hasn’t been many talks about the next two expansion packs for this game coming afterwards. Here is a quick trailer and game preview of the new Starcraft 2. Enjoy!

One thing is for sure; I can’t wait for this game to come out. Once I get it, I can give a quick review over the game content. Have you played the beta? Can you share some light with me? Leave it as the form a comment below.

Is this a Movie? Are we going to be able see it happen? If you don’t know what I’m talking about then clearly you haven’t read the title. Today, Kotaku released an article with what can be either a trailer for a game or a — rather long — trailer of a movie. A movie/game called: “Mortal Kombat”.

I was sent this article by a good reliable source and after reading and doing some research on this, I’ve grown want MORE! Sometime ago Warner Bros. announced that they were working on a remake for the Mortal Kombat Movies, but it was put on hold due to some legal issues.

With the release of the seven minute trailer many started speculating whether this is the work of a gruesome and dark movie or an extended real live action trailer for an upcoming game. With E3 only few days away and the “sudden” appearance of Mortak Kombat (2013) on IMDB, we will have to keep on wondering.

I just got to say that the trailer was AWESOME and I would LOVE for this to be a movie. The only critique that I give this trailer was “Jax’s” acting, because he didn’t felt real enough. However, every other character that made an appearance in the trailer did a tremendous job and just makes you want MORE!

Now is time… FINISH HIM!

Here is the seven minute trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmvxjnwbMPI

So, after watching this glorious trailer…What do you think? Is this the trailer of a game? Or is this a trailer for a movie? I hope is for a movie!!

What do you get when you combine Disney with Final Fantasy… Kingdom Hearts. Its been 8 years since the first one graced our consoles with its presence. Those who played any of the series, have mostly enjoyed the experience. Its a great story with a nice blending of characters, worlds, and music. There’s been a sequel, a number of handheld versions, and some “remixes.” The Latest of the series is Birth By Sleep, and I happened to get my hands on the recently released Japanese version. I’ve spent a total of 5 hours playing it over the past couple of days, and this one does not disappoint. In my opinion, this one puts all the others in the series to shame. The graphics are great, especially for the PSP, looks just like the PS2. Even the CG cut scenes are amazing, but hey its Square Enix where talking about here so I wouldn’t expect anything less. The music was great, its got the soundtracks to some of you’re favorite Disney films, as do the other games in the series. Unfortunately, story wise, I don’t speak Japanese so I didn’t know what was going. Even in game, very few things were in English, so it was trial by error when I played it. Nonetheless Birth By Sleep brings a lot to the table when it comes to game-play.

So, Let’s take a look at the mechanics of the game. There are 3 different characters you get to play as: Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. After a brief tutorial, you can select from either to begin the game; I chose Terra. In this game not only do the characters level up, but just about every other aspect as well like attacks and magic. One of the new battle features is a “combo meter” that when filled up, under certain conditions, can lead to a variety of attacks. When in a heated battle, you do have your standard keyblade combo attacks of course. If you were to fill up the meter with your standard attack, you will have the chance to use a finish move. More so a powerful keyblade attack than a finish. You start with one finish but as you complete certain requirements you’re finisher will level up and branch out to other finish moves, and those will continue to branch as well. Besides the standard attacks, you have secondary keyblade attacks. Anything from a dashing slash to a hurl of the keyblade. Fill up the combo meter with certain secondary attacks and you unleash a sort of “Super” mode. There are various super modes obtained by filling the combo meter in different ways. In these Super modes your attacks are more devastating as well as your “super specific” finishers. Then there’s your magic attacks, fire, blizzard, thunder, etc. Fill the combo meter with certain magic attacks and you’ll get the corresponding elemental super mode. Fire attacks give you a fire-like super, your keyblade attacks are endowed with fire, and so on with the resulting element. There are numerous ways of approaching a fight, it all depends on how you play. By the way, there’s no magic meter so all secondary and magic attacks are time based, they can be re-used after a few seconds. All your secondary and magic attacks level up as you fight, max out these attacks and you can use them for synthesis.

Synthesis, if you don’t know, its combining different elements together to make another. In which case you can create all sorts of new attacks. Sometimes the new attacks come with ability attributes. like combo increase. These abilities can only be used when the attack is equipped, but once the attack hits max level the ability is free to use. You can combine different keyblade attacks to create a more powerful one. For instance, I created a one hit kill move, kills most enemies and does massive damage to bosses, if i can land it in time. Synthesis is also how you create the higher forms of the magic attacks. 2 fires equal fira, 2 firas equal firaga, and so on for the other elements. You can also combine keyblade attacks with magic to create elemental keyblade attacks, the combinations are almost endless. Enemies occasionally drop attacks and magic so you’ll be spending time leveling up attacks just to synthesize them.

Other than keyblade attacks, you have what are called “Focus” moves and “D-Links.” The Focus moves are lock-on attacks where you can lock-on to a number of enemies and attack them all at once. Focus moves are great for tight situations. Each of these moves can also level up. The D-Links allow you to link up with other story characters you’ve encountered to use their moves, kinda like the Super modes, only character specific rather than elemental. The D-Links level up, not through experience, but rather by acquiring certain items enemies drop while in that mode. This is why I say the game-play of Birth By Sleep puts the others to shame. Look at what all the original keyblade masters could do, what happened to the new generation of keyblade wielders, man they suck.

Besides the story, there’s more to do that’ll keep you interested. There’s an Arena mode which you can play online or offline with various things to do. There’s some trials you can endure solo or with friends, fighting through a few rounds of enemies or a boss. The trials are kind of like the Coliseum in previous games. There’s a board game mode you can play, a bit like a dumbed down version of Mario Party. You can take on your friends in vs. mode or challenge them to a race to see who the fastest keyblade rider is. There’s different ways to fight and a lot of modes to keep you entertained. I’ve only played 5 hours of this game and I already love it, a definite buy for me. The American version of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is set to be released September 7, 2010.

Wait what? A review? on a Game that hasn’t come out yet to the US? Yep! You read it right. The author of this story wanted to remain anonymous. He wrote this story exclusively for The Mug Show! Agent 00Gamer *tuh tuhn pah!*.

What do you get when you combine Disney with Final Fantasy… Kingdom Hearts. Its been 8 years since the
This game will be released September 7, 2010 for the PSP Console for USA.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the news. After I read about it on Yahoo Games, I through that this would finally bring the 3rd installment of Kingdom Hearts to the PS3! But I was wrong. If you’ve played Kingdom Hearts 2 you know about this special ending that shows the title: “Birth By Sleep” shows 3 mysterious characters (the have names: “Terra, Aqua, and Ventus”). Which they closely resembled a couple of characters in past games (Ventus looks just like Roxas)

The reason why this is not Kingdom Hearts 3 because this game is actually a prequel. This game is set way before Sora received the Keyblade. You can read the whole story here. Now, I tstill think this may be a cool game since the story seems very interesting. Disney Characters will be back, but I’ve been impressed by the way these characters were implemented.

As a Kingdom Hearts fan, I’ll be sure to learn more about this game and keep hoping that soon enough we get to know about Kingdom Hearts 3.

What do you think? Are you looking forward for this game? Where you expecting something different? Watch the trailer and tell me what you think.

Just in case you haven’t here it is! Today, Activision released a teaser trailer about the next game of Call of Duty — Black Ops –. Now, although I don’t own any of the Call of Duty games, it is quite interesting to see this new game. I have had the pleasure of playing all of the Call of Duties and the last one (Modern Warfare 2) was really intense and is no wonder how it got so many sales. However, there is something about this one that keeps me waiting and wondering about this game.

Many have speculated about the new whereabouts of the game and whatnot — ie. the game is going to be about the war in Vietnam –. Those speculator may be right about this one. From the trailer there are a couple of scenes that are in a jungle, but with the jumping and the flashing it was a bit hard to guess where could it be. Also it seems that this game is based on the past (hence why is believed is about the Vietnam war) because the trailer only shows flashbacks of a soldier.

The game is set to be released: November 9, 2010. Let’s take a look at the trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgqUSrEaFvE

Pretty cool huh? Well if that doesn’t tickle you, maybe you would like to know that even though Nicolas Cage doesn’t have a lot of money he still bought a Pyramid? Umm… Ok Yeah they don’t go together, but is ok. What do you think? Are you excited for this game? Why would Nicolas Cage wanna buy a Pyramid in a cemetery?? Kind of creepy if you ask me.
